Important NFDA Election Information – Get to Know the Officer Candidates and Verify Your Email

April 12, 2024

2024 NFDA Virtual Officer Candidate Forum

April 18, 11 a.m. CT ♦ Moderated by NFDA General Counsel Christopher L. Farmer

Interested in learning more about the 2024 slate of candidates running for seats on the NFDA Board of Directors? The 2024 NFDA Election season is upon us and NFDA will host the first of two virtual forums that will help you get to know the candidates running for office this Thursday, April 18.

During the Virtual Officer Candidate Forum, candidates will share a bit about themselves and answer questions about their experience and qualifications for serving on the NFDA Board of Directors, challenges and opportunities facing NFDA, and more.

Click here to join the Virtual Officer Candidate Forum on April 18 at 11 a.m. CT. No registration is required.

If you are unable to participate live, a recording will be posted on the NFDA website after the event. Learn more about the candidates by visiting NFDA.org/Elections.

Officers on the NFDA Board of Directors will be elected by qualified NFDA members during an electronic election held June 13 through 26.

The officers who are elected will serve a one-year term that begins after the 2024 NFDA International Convention & Expo in October. The individual elected to the office of president-elect will automatically become president following the 2025 NFDA Convention.

The officer candidates are:

  • Secretary Candidates
    • Bobby "Steve" Spann, Spann Funeral Home, Dickson, Tennessee
    • Brad R. Walker, Walker Funeral Home, Spanish Fork, Utah
  • Treasurer Candidate
    • Chris E. Christian, Christian-Sells Funeral Home, Rogersville, Tennessee
  • President-elect Candidate
    • Daniel J. Ford, Alderson-Ford Funeral Homes Inc., Cheshire, Connecticut

A second Virtual Candidate Forum will be scheduled in the weeks to come to help you get to know the candidates for the two at-large representative seats on the NFDA Board of Directors – stay tuned! During the 2024 NFDA Leadership Conference, state association representatives will elect two at-large representatives. State association representatives are the voting representatives from each state who cast the votes on behalf of their state for the at-large representatives on the NFDA Board of Directors.
