In May, Link Mortuary Equipment displayed the first Ford E-Transit electric van (EV) featuring Link’s DD2000-XLC Double-Deck Mortuary Transport System. Introduced in 2019, the large-capacity model doubles the carrying capacity of the Chevy Express, Dodge Ram ProMaster, Ford Econoline, Ford Transit, Nissan NV and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter cargo vans – and now does the same for the Ford E-Transit.

Enhanced in May 2023, this system features additional rollers on its upper and lower decks, as well as two additional bier pin plates that address the increased use of cremation containers and help secure air trays and caskets.

The 12-volt electric-powered upper deck, with a 600-pound load capacity, can be raised and lowered, enabling one person to easily load, transport and unload remains. The system also features an integrated safety latch that locks the upper deck in place and prevents it from lowering, even if both its powered actuators fail or a vehicle power outage occurs. linkcmp.com
