The International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards (The Conference) is looking for volunteers to participate in the National Board Exam (NBE) Virtual Item Writing Workshops. The Conference invites anyone who meets the criteria to apply. No experience in exam development is required because training and mentorship are provided. Space is limited, and participants will be chosen to represent the diversity of funeral service licensees across the country. Participation might also be recognized for continuing education within your state.
If interested, please note the following requirements:
- Licensed and in good standing as a funeral director and embalmer
- Passed both the NBE-Arts and the NBE-Sciences
- Have access to a computer and high-speed internet, and a working knowledge of technology
- Sign a nondisclosure agreement that affirms your commitment to exam security
- Disclose any participation in writing, administering, scoring or maintaining any funeral service licensure exam
The first training session is slated for April 24 at a time to be determined.(if you are unable to participate at the chosen time, the training will be recorded). The first Virtual Item Writing Workshop will be held June 4-6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
The second training session will take place May 19 at a time to be determined (again, if you are unable to participate at the chosen time, the training will be recorded). The second Virtual Item Writing Workshop will take place June 30-July 2.
