Are you ready to take your funeral service career to the next level? The National Funeral Directors Association's acclaimed Meet the Mentors program is back and heading to Washington, D.C., from April 8-10, 2025. This is your exclusive opportunity to connect with funeral service leaders, build lasting professional relationships and experience the power of advocacy firsthand! Seize this exclusive opportunity - applications for the 2025 program year are due January 17!
Held alongside NFDA’s annual Advocacy Summit, Meet the Mentors offers emerging professionals like you – age 40 and under or licensed within the past five years – the chance to learn from three accomplished funeral service experts:
- Dr. Camelia Clarke (Wisconsin): Funeral home co-owner, past president of the Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association, and NFDA spokesperson.
- Lori Sheeler (Indiana): General Manager, leader in state associations, and passionate mentor.
- Tim Schramm (Michigan): Funeral home CEO, mass fatality response leader, and advocate for innovation.
Participants will gain real-world insights from our distinguished mentors; take part in engaging roundtable discussions; and enjoy a tour and dinner at the historic Joseph Gawler's Sons Funeral Home, which has served presidents, vice presidents, Supreme Court justices, members of Congress, cabinet secretaries, military leaders and foreign dignitaries. Mentees will also take an active role in NFDA’s advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill by meeting with members of Congress and seeing firsthand how their voice shapes the policies that impact our profession.
Past participants rave about the experience:
“I gained valuable knowledge and insight that I will use throughout my career.”
“The connections I made are invaluable. This program helped me grow as a funeral director.”
Thanks to the generous support of the Funeral Service Foundation, the program covers registration, lodging, and select meals – you just need to get to D.C.!
Apply by 11:59pm CT on January 17, 2025, at NFDA.org/Mentors.
