The Department of Health and Human Services is once again offering free COVID-19 tests to Americans. Every U.S. household is eligible to order up to four free tests. COVID-19 testing can help you know if you have COVID-19 so you can decide what to do next, like getting treatment to reduce your risk of severe illness and taking steps to lower your chances of spreading the virus to others.

Anyone wanting to order tests can do so at COVID.gov/Tests. Four tests will be shipped free by USPS, starting September 30.

The free tests are rapid antigen at-home tests, not PCR. They can be used at home and give results within 30 minutes (no lab drop-off required).
