The work you do as a funeral professional is vital to your community. You offer support and connection to people when they need it most. It’s NFDA’s job to offer that same support and connection to members. NFDA is seeking candidates to help lead the association by serving on the Board of Directors. Those who serve in this critical leadership role help ensure NFDA fulfills its mission to deliver the support, resources and advocacy association members need to thrive. Interested members may begin applying to become a candidate on January 2, 2024.
Being involved in the National Funeral Directors Association has never been more important. With the many challenges the funeral service profession faces – evolving consumer preferences, potential federal regulatory changes by the FTC and EPA, issues finding qualified staff, and so many more – we are at a crucial point as a profession. You have an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution by serving on the Board of Directors.
NFDA is accepting applications from potential candidates to serve on the Board of Directors for the 2024-25 leadership year, which begins at the conclusion of the 2024 NFDA International Convention & Expo. The open positions are:
- President-elect (one-year term)
- Treasurer (one-year term)
- Secretary (one-year term)
- Two (2) at-large representatives (two-year term)
The most successful Boards of Directors have a complementing mix of diverse individuals representing a variety of work, life, social and educational backgrounds. Such diversity brings together varied viewpoints in order make well-rounded decisions that reflect NFDA’s entire membership and the funeral service profession as a whole. If you have the expertise, leadership, and vision it takes to lead your chosen profession and are interested in becoming a candidate, please submit a completed application, which can be found at www.nfda.org/elections beginning January 2, 2024. Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. CT on Friday, February 2, 2024.
All candidates will be vetted by the NFDA Leadership Development Committee for an open position. The Leadership Development will announce their list of qualified candidates no later than March 1, 2024.
