Fédération Internationale des Associations de Thanathologues – International Federation of Thanatologists Associations (FIAT-IFTA) is partnering with IATA (International Air Transportation Association) to host free webinars on September 5 and 7 titled “Compassionate Transportation: All You Need to Know about the Transport of Human Remains by Air.”
Air transport has grown significantly and provides a globally connected network supporting businesses. At the same time the human population has become much more mobile with a consequential increase in the expatriate populations in many countries. For the next-of-kin this may mean that they wish to repatriate the remains for a funeral in the home country.
The IATA “Compassionate Transportation Manual” constitutes a manual of standards, procedures and recommended practices to assist supply chain partners, freight forwarders, funeral directors and airlines in the transport of human remains.
Join this webinar to:
- Get an introduction to the existing standards and requirements regarding the compassionate handling and transport of human remains.
- Learn how the funeral homes consolidate the documents and logistic requirements for international funeral shipping.
- Hear how an airline uses the CTM Checklist to ensure compliance.
- Ask your questions!
Presenters are:
- Brendan Sullivan, Global Head of Cargo, IATA
- Andre Majeres, Head E-Commerce and Cargo Operations, IATA
- Lucy Exell, Manager Cargo Industry Program, IATA
- Emerson De Luca. Secretary, FIAT-IFTA
There are two available dates and times for convenience and to facilitate the participation of funeral service professionals in different time zones around the globe:
