NFDA’s flagship publication, The Director, has won two awards in the annual Awards for Publication Excellence competition (APEX).
Of the 1,100 entries submitted for APEX 2023, 100 Grand Awards were presented for outstanding work in 14 categories.
The Director received a Grand Award for Design and Illustration for its February 2023 issue spread, “The Big Lie.”
There were also 453 Awards of Excellence presented for exceptional work in 100 subcategories. The Director won in the category Entire Issue / Print Magazines, Journals and Tabloids / 32 pages+.
The APEX awards are based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the success of the entry – in the opinion of the judges – in achieving overall communications effectiveness and excellence.
“I just want to say congratulations to the Publications team for continuing to demonstrate excellence in what we do. Year after year, our peers are taking notice,” said Edward J. Defort, publisher and editorial director. “I am very proud to be part of this team.”
APEX 2023 is the 35th annual awards competition; it began in 1988. APEX is sponsored by the editors of Writer’s Web Watch, an e-newsletter for communicators who write, edit and manage business publications. Writer’s Web Watch is published by Communications Concepts Inc., providing problem-solving information to professional communicators since 1984.
