Within the next two weeks, FEMA COVID-19 Funeral Assistance will reach $1 billion. Thus far, the agency has been able to approve the applications of more than 146,000 individuals who incurred unexpected funeral expenses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
To help educate eligible families about this assistance, in the near future, FEMA will be conducting a national advertising campaign. However, you can also help by continuing to spread the word to families you have served. To help you reach out to families, NFDA has created a members-only toolkit with a press release, advertisements, copy for a letter to families, social media posts and more. Click here to learn more.
FEMA has also notified NFDA that thousands of applicants owe documentation so the agency can process their applications. As you reach out to families, remind them that you can help provide needed documentation.
