Many of you may be aware that current members of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) are eligible to have a DAR plaque mounted on her gravestone.
Many families have women who once were active members of DAR but, for various reasons, dropped their membership. Until recently, you had to be an active member to have a DAR plaque mounted on your grave stone; this has changed.
If a decedent was once a member and her family would like to honor her service to DAR, they may contact DAR’s Office of the Historian General – phone: 202-879-3256 or historian@dar.org – for more information about plaques and to begin the application process.
