Earlier this year, the Funeral Service Foundation launched its Youth & Funerals initiative, which equips funeral service professionals with tools to navigate the deeply personal question, “Should my child attend the funeral?” Available resources include an e-book and video that funeral homes and organizations can embed on websites and share on social media platforms at no cost. A booklet customized with a firm or organization’s logo and business information is also available for purchase. Learn more about the tools on the Foundation’s website.

During last week’s NFDA Leadership Conference, we hosted a session that took a deep look at how funeral directors can better support grieving children. The session featured presentations by three experts: 

• Joe Primo, CEO, Good Grief
• Brad Speaks, President, Speaks Family Legacy Chapels
• Vicki Jay, CEO, National Alliance for Grieving Children
• Robert Arrington, CCO, 2017-18 Funeral Service Foundation Chair

Following their presentations, Arrington moderated a panel discussion with Primo, Speaks and Jay.
