NFDA is thrilled to welcome members to Washington, D.C., for the 2018 Advocacy Summit. With the ever-evolving priorities in Washington, D.C., NFDA needs its members to ensure funeral service issues stay top-of-mind with members of Congress.
Congress on a two year cycle; therefore, while we are in Washington, D.C., we will be building on the tremendous progress we made during last year’s Advocacy Summit. We are in the home stretch with the Burial Rights for America's Veterans' Efforts Act of 2017 (BRAVE Act) and the Labeling and Transporting Tissues Safely Act of 2017 (LATTS Act). With the help of members, we can see these bills passed before we elect a new Congress during the 2018 mid-term elections!
Thank you to our generous Advocacy Summit sponsors: Batesville, C & J Finanical and Nomis Publications.

We close out our time in D.C. for the Advocacy Summit with a tour of Arlington National Cemetery. President Ken Cahall and his wife Jennifer laid a wreath at the 9/11 memorial, which honors the lives lost at the Pentagon on that fateful day.
Friday is our last day in D.C. for the Advocacy Summit. Thank you to everyone who joined us last night evening for the NFDA PAC fundraiser, which featured guest speaker Reince Priebus. Click here to learn more about the work of the NFDA PAC.
In between meetings with their members of Congress, Advocacy Summit attendees are stopping by our hospitality room in the Capitol Hill Club for refreshments and to update NFDA staff on their meetings!
And they’re off! Thank you to everyone who is “storming the Hill” on behalf of the funeral service profession and the families it serves during the 2018 Advocacy Summit.
Before heading off to "the Hill" today, NFDA members hear about federal efforts to address the opioid epidemic from Rep. Brett Guthrie (R-KY).
Last night, Advocacy Summit attendees enjoyed a slice of American History during the Welcome Reception held at the historic Woodrow Wilson House.
Last night, we opened the 2018 Advocacy Summit with a briefing on the important issues NFDA members would be discussing with their representatives in Congress!
