NFDA Training Programs: Expanding Your Knowledge

April 05, 2018

As the old saying goes, "experience is the greatest teacher." But, participating in specialized certification and training programs can round out your knowledge and expose you to ideas and approaches you may have never considered.

NFDA leads the pack when it comes to training and certification programs! Don't miss our upcoming seminars:

Cremation Certification Program – Learn More!

The NFDA Cremation Certification Program offers a must-have certification for everyone offering cremation to the families they serve. Whether you currently own or operate a crematory, are thinking of opening one, or want to evaluate a third-party crematory, this training is necessary for your success. The recognized certification standard for funeral service professionals, NFDA’s Cremation Certification Program covers best practices for safe, proper, and ethical crematory operations, excellence in service to cremation families, and much more.

Upcoming programs include:

  • May 2, Catonsville, MD
  • May 21, Bloomington, MN
  • June 13, Charlottesville, VA
  • August 1, Birmingham, AL
  • October 13, Salt Lake City, UT (NFDA Convention preconvention seminar)

Arranger Training – Learn More!

Learn how to make the most of the arrangement conference through a creative, five-step process you’ll only discover here. This high-energy, interactive program provides you with the tools you need to convey the value of the funeral to families and partner with them to design memorable life tribute events.  Through a combination of small- and large-group discussions, problem-solving and creative collaboration, you’ll leave with fresh approaches and new ideas to transform your arrangement conferences.

Upcoming programs include:

  • April 12-13, Atlantic Beach, FL
  • April 25, Washington, D.C.
  • June 7, Hackensack, NJ
  • July 19, Denver, CO
  • August 1, Brookfield, WI (NFDA headquarters)
  • August 3, Wheeling, IL
  • August 22, Greenwood, SC
  • October 13, Salt Lake City, UT (NFDA Convention preconvention seminar)

Celebrant Training - Learn More!

As families' wishes continue to evolve, it is more important than ever to offer a variety of services that meet their needs and exceed their expectations. Fewer families are incorporating religious rites into memorial services – how do you fill that gap? Many funeral homes look to Celebrants and find it most economical to train their staff to accommodate this growing demand for customized services. Take advantage of InSight Institute's Certified Celebrant Training Program, hosted by NFDA.

Upcoming programs include:

  • July 17-19, Brookfield, WI (NFDA headquarters)
  • October 12-14, Salt Lake City, UT (NFDA Convention preconvention seminar)

Certified Preplanning Consultant (CPC) - Learn More!

The NFDA CPC program has set the highest standard of professional excellence in preplanning through voluntary certification for nearly 20 years. Its mission is to promote expertise and professionalism in advance funeral planning by recognizing those individuals who have met certain predetermined qualifications and demonstrated their knowledge of prearrangement standards through the CPC examination.

Upcoming seminars include:

  • April 26-27, Pittsburgh, PA
  • June 28-29, Springfield, IL
  • October 13-14, Salt Lake City, UT (NFDA Convention preconvention seminar)
  • Earn your CPC designation from the comfort of your office or home with our correspondence option!

Funeral Service Foundation - Career Development Awards

Available to licensed funeral directors looking to grow through professional development and continuing education, the Funeral Service Foundation Career Development Awards underwrite registration fees for a single NFDA Cremation Certification, Arranger Training or Certified Preplanning Consultant session of recipient’s choosing.
