One of the most common misconceptions about the Pursuit of Excellence Program is that it requires starting from scratch.
In reality, many funeral homes discover they’ve already completed much of the work – it’s simply a matter of documenting it.
First-time participants can describe programs and activities from the past three years, while returning participants focus on the past year. That means staff training, community events, grief-support initiatives and meaningful services you’ve already provided may qualify.
The online entry platform allows you to:
- Work on your submission over time
- Invite team members to help complete sections
- Upload documentation as you go
With more than two months remaining before the July 15 deadline, now is an ideal time to log in to NFDA.org/PursuitOfExcellence and review the criteria and start organizing your materials.
