Women across the funeral profession are invited to take part in a unique global initiative designed to elevate their voices, experiences and contributions.
Led by FIAT-IFTA – The World Organization of Funeral Operatives, A Manifesto of Visibility and Voice is an international project that brings together the lived experiences of women in funeral service through creative expression. NFDA is pleased to share this opportunity with members and encourage participation.
This is not a competition. It is a collective effort to build a global archive that reflects the realities of women’s work in funeral care—both the challenges and the meaningful moments that define the profession.
A Different Way to Tell the Story of Funeral Service
Participants are invited to submit original creative works (e.g., such as photography, artwork, collage or short video) that reflect their personal and professional experiences.
No formal artistic training is required. The focus is on authenticity, perspective and storytelling.
Submissions may explore themes such as:
- Leadership and professional growth
- Compassion and care
- Workplace culture and change
- Resilience and personal experience
- Tradition and innovation
Together, these works will form an international exhibition highlighting the essential role women play in supporting families, honoring lives and shaping the future of funeral service.
Be Part of a Global Exhibition
Selected works will be featured as part of an exhibition taking place June 4 through 6 in Düsseldorf, Germany, at the BEFA Forum, bringing global visibility to the voices and experiences of women in funeral service.
Submit by April 15
Women working in any area of funeral service are invited to participate. Individuals may submit up to three works.

This initiative is an opportunity to contribute to something larger than any one organization and create a global reflection of the profession through the voices of the women who serve within it every day.
