On November 12, 2025, Schoedinger Funeral & Cremation Service (Columbus) received the Milestone Award from the Conway Center for Family Business during its annual luncheon. Co-presidents Michael and Kevin Schoedinger accepted the award, granted in recognition of the firm’s 170 years in business.

Schoedinger Funeral & Cremation Service was founded in 1855 by German cabinetmaker Philip Schoedinger. Now in its sixth generation of family leadership, the business has grown to include 12 locations, three crematories, green burials, pet cremations, prearrangement services and bereavement support. It also offers uniquely personalized services that include photos, mementos and videos of the life being celebrated.

Previously, Schoedinger received the Better Business Bureau of Central Ohio’s Integrity Award. It also was named Family Business of the Year, as well as one of The Columbus Dispatch’s and The CEO Magazine’s Best Places to Work in Central Ohio.
