On February 16, 2025, the Sons of Liberty Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution honored George Washington’s birthday and the U.S. Armed Forces with a massing of colors and parade at Forest Lawn-Hollywood Hills, operated by Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks & Mortuaries (Glendale).

For more than 30 years, this free, nonprofit-sponsored outdoor event has brought patriotic Presidents’ Day celebrations to the community, empowering area youth and recognizing our nation’s military while celebrating the leadership and contributions of George Washington in time for his birthday and Presidents’ Day.

This year’s event featured a large, hour-long parade of some 70 color and honor guard units from local schools, ROTC units, military branches and historical societies, as well as representatives from all branches of the U.S. military. There was also a warbirds fly-by in the “Missing Man” formation, as well as artillery and firearm salutes. The Blue Eagles Honor Guard from Edwards Air Force Base led the parade and executed ceremonial honors. Uniformed color guards presented a remarkable patriotic image. forestlawn.com
