Legacy Funeral Group (Houston) recently acquired three Louisiana funeral businesses: Chauvin Funeral Home and Crematory (Houma), Twin City Funeral Home (Morgan City) and Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home & Crematory (Natchitoches). Following the birth of his first grandchild last September, Mike Murphy, owner of the three firms, decided he wanted to spend more time with his family.

In other news, Kevin Combest – former owner of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory (Lubbock), which Legacy acquired in May 2022 – recently accepted a full-time position with the company as director of compliance. In this role, he will ensure that all funeral homes, cemeteries, crematories and other company-owned establishments remain federal and state compliant, as well as safe for all employees and customers who visit.
