In 1974, Clarence Gerke and Wayne Giese built Memorial Oaks Chapel with a mission to serve their community, and the firm has served as a supporting pillar to the people of Brenham and the surrounding areas for more than 45 years. Both men are deeply rooted in their community and continue to serve on various boards, councils and committees. In 1996, Memorial Oaks Chapel purchased Strickland Funeral Homes. As they have for the last 120 years, the Somerville and Caldwell locations, under the guidance of Ken Wiltz, continue to provide expert care and compassion to local families.
