Death Notices

Please email death notices to obits@nfda.org. Please include complete information, along with a contact name and telephone number. If a death notice has been published online, please include a link to it.

If you are notifying us of the death of an immediate family member, state their relationship to the funeral director and affiliation to the funeral home.

Death notices will be considered for publication on the NFDA website and in The Director magazine as space allows.

James M. House

retired funeral director and former owner, Ricker Funeral Home, Woodsville, New Hampshire, and past president, New Hampshire Funeral Directors Association, died December 28, 2025, at age 82.

House graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and worked for Fenton & Hennessey Funeral Home in Vermont. He then moved to Woodsville to begin his career at Ricker Funeral Home. Notably, in 1968, he was part of recovery efforts following a tragic airplane crash on Moose Mountain.

House is survived by wife Paula, son Christopher, daughter Kimberly, and granddaughters Lilly and Lucy.
