Charles Beaulieu III
funeral director and former owner, Beaulieu Funeral Home, Newberry, Michigan, died May 11, 2023, at age 85.
Beaulieu attended St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin, for two years and graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee with a degree in business administration.
He served stateside in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he attended Milwaukee Technical College to attain a degree in mortuary science.
Beaulieu then returned to Newberry as a third-generation funeral director at Beaulieu Funeral Home. He later became owner and continued serving the community until his retirement in 1997. He continued his involvement in funeral service at the state level and in 1999 served as president of the Michigan Funeral Directors Association.
Beaulieu was a member of American Legion Post 74, Newberry Elks Lodge and Newberry Kiwanis Club. He was also a volunteer EMT for Luce County Ambulance Corp.
He is survived by children Michael, John, Christopher (funeral director and owner, Beaulieu Funeral Home) and Anne; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
