Walter E. Auxter

funeral director and former owner, Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, Ohio, died March 17, 2020, at age 100. Auxter served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was an embalmer and funeral director for more than 60 years. He was a member of NFDA, the Ohio Funeral Directors Association and the Ohio Embalmers Association. Auxter was past commander and life member of American Legion Post 138, life member of Clyde VFW 3343 and a member of the Minute Men Firing Squad. He was a retired member of the board of directors at the former Clyde Savings Bank and a former member of 52 years and past president of Kiwanis Club.

Auxter is survived by children Diane, Dean and Daniel; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
