About the Remembering A Life Self-care Box

collage layout of box

The Remembering A Life Self-care Box contains the following items, which can be used to store mementos.

Remembering A Life Grief Journal – Keeping a journal can help a grieving individual reflect on the life of a loved one, the relationship they shared and the impact he or she had on family and friends. Journaling provides the opportunity to write about grief in a private, cathartic manner. The Remembering A Life Journal, developed with Elizabeth Lewis, features writing prompts, illustrations that can be colored and blank pages for drawing, doodling or scrapbooking. Also sold separately.

Memory Jar – Life is full of many special times and experiences. Those memories can be jotted down on small pieces of paper and placed in the Remembering A Life Memory Jar. The jar can be opened at any time – or perhaps on the person's birthday, a holiday or other meaningful day. It’s a lovely way for your families to rediscover a few of the wonderful moments that will keep your loved one's memory alive. Also sold separately.

Candle – This pear-and-redwood-scented candle can be lit and enjoyed when an individual misses a loved one most, or to mark a special day, such as a birthday, holiday or other significant moment. We've partnered with Soja Bougie (sojabougie.com), a small-batch producer of handmade candles, to illuminate the memory of your loved one. Soja Bougie candles are handcrafted using only natural soy wax, premium-grade scents and essential oils to create an environment of peace and calm. Also sold separately.

Essential Oil Roller – Aromatherapy can heighten feelings of healing, relaxation and mindfulness. This essential oil roller – a calming blend of sweet marjoram, orange, and lavender – can be used as needed, whether first thing in the morning, throughout the day or before bed. Our partners at The Healing Place Farm (thehealingplacefarm.com) handcraft essential-oil-scented products that soothe, rejuvenate and promote wellness. Their mission-focused approach also supports local organizations that improve the lives of families, individuals and animals in need. Also sold separately.

Dragonfly Keychain and Story – The story of the dragonfly and its rebirth is one of hope and comfort. This keychain can be used as a reminder that a loved one is still present in spirit. The Dragonfly Project was founded in 2002 by an 11-year-old girl who wanted to reach out to others who were grieving the loss of a family member or friend. The Dragonfly Project since then has been bringing comfort to more than 100,000 grieving individuals in the United States and around the world. For more information, visit dragonflyproject.org.

Rose Quartz Stone – Called the "Crystal of Unconditional Love," rose quartz carries a soft feminine energy of compassion and peace; tenderness and healing; nourishment and comfort. This stone can be held between the index finger and thumb. Gently rubbing the thumb across the stone helps ease feelings of anxiety and promotes relaxation. I can be kept in a pocket or purse as a reminder of an individual’s unconditional love for the loved one.

Water Bottle – Staying hydrated is always important, but particularly while grieving when a person might not be practicing self-care. Using the Remembering A Life water bottle at home or on the go helps ensure a person is drinking enough water throughout the day.

Remembering A Life Box – The box itself makes a perfect container to hold cherished items and other mementos that offer special meaning and remind an individual of a loved one.
