Fifty to sixty $500 - $2,500 scholarships available annually from various donor organizations. Administered by the ABFSE Scholarship Committee which meets in April and October. Applicants must have completed at least one term of study in a funeral service program accredited by ABFSE. Taken into careful consideration are financial need, academic performance, extracurricular and/or community activities, recommendations submitted and articulateness of the scholarship application itself.

Scholarships vary. Eligibility for the award, student must have completed at least one of the last three quarters as a full-time student in a program of Mortuary Science education or funeral service accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education. Have demonstrated responsibility with a good attendance record and minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Have demonstrated qualities of professionalism which are needed for success in funeral service. Be a citizen of the United States. Applications must be received by the committee by June 30 of each year. Applicants submitting late or incomplete applications will be eliminated from the competition.

The Pinellas County Funeral Home Association offers scholarships each semester to students who are in their second year and accepted into the St. Petersburg College Funeral Service program through the St. Petersburg College Foundation.
