NFDA, in partnership with Matthews International, has been selected to present the 2013 crematory operators certification program for the state of New York by the New York Division of Cemeteries.
A crematory shall ensure that all employees operating crematory equipment have attended cremation classes and obtained a certificate. No employee in New York is allowed to operate any cremation equipment until he or she has met state requirements.

NFDA was been approved as provider of this program by the New York Department of State and the New York DEC in accordance with course requirements set forth in section 1517 Not-for-Profit Corporation Law (Article 15, Part 204. Cremation Certification Course).

This program will be presented by representatives from NFDA, Matthews Cremation Division and the New York DEC.
Upon completion of the program, each participant will receive a written take-home test that must be completed and returned to NFDA within two weeks of distribution. A score of 70 percent must be achieved to obtain certification as a crematory operator.*
While registrations can be accepted on-site, we recommend registering by Wednesday, October 16.
$395 cost includes course, manual/materials, lunch/refreshments, and exam.
Approval pending for 8 CE hours for licensed funeral directors by APFSP.
*Per New York Department of State, Division of Cemeteries, Not for Profit Corporation Law Article 15, Part 204. All scores and a copy of all tests will be provided to the NY Division of Cemeteries. Certification is valid for five years in New York.
