Death Notices

Please email death notices to obits@nfda.org. Please include complete information, along with a contact name and telephone number. If a death notice has been published online, please include a link to it.

If you are notifying us of the death of an immediate family member, state their relationship to the funeral director and affiliation to the funeral home.

Death notices will be considered for publication on the NFDA website and in The Director magazine as space allows.

Robert Lee Spencer

funeral director and owner, Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, died June 18, 2020, at age 75. Spencer was a graduate of Potomac State College and American Academy McAllister Institute of Mortuary Science in New York City, which was the beginning of his 50+ years in funeral service. He also served many years in the Army National Guard. He is survived by wife Renee and daughters Stephanie and Megan.
