John J. Hadley

funeral director with Hadley Funeral Home, Marietta, Ohio, died April 13, 2013, at 69. Hadley graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1965 and served the Marietta community as a funeral director for more than 50 years. He was appointed to the Ohio Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors and served 15 years. In this capacity, he met and mentored young apprentices to prepare them for careers in funeral service. He also served as chairman of the City of Marietta National Clean-Up Campaign from 1967-70, during which time the city won an award for being one of the 10 best small cities in the country. He also won the Outstanding Young Man Award in 1967 from the Marietta Jaycees. He is survived by wife Barbara; children John, Jamie and Lois; and three grandchildren.
