Harry Allen Philbrick

former funeral director with Waters Funeral Home, Concord, New Hampshire, died January 22, 2013, at age 71. Philbrick served in the U.S. Air Force as an air policeman from 1959-62 and worked in a variety of careers with a basis in law enforcement, including working for Sprague Electric during the ‘60s as a supervisor and then for the Federal Protective Service from 1971-81. He was also an auxiliary trooper with the New Hampshire State Police from 1979-81. In 1982, Philbrick graduated from New England Institute (now Mount Ida College) with a degree in mortuary science. After 40 years with Waters Funeral Home, he returned to law enforcement as a dispatcher for the Concord Police Department. He was also a community service aide and helped build a miniature TAC vehicle to be used in parades for the Concord Police Department’s D.A.R.E. program. After retirement, Philbrick returned to a part-time position in parking enforcement and assisted detectives with maintaining evidence. He was a member of American Legion Post 21 and recently served as judge advocate. He is survived by wife Elizabeth, son Scott and daughter Lisa.
