Before the year ends, be sure to purchase a 2013 music license for each of your locations. With NFDA, you pay only $235 per location – the absolute lowest rate available in funeral service – for a music license covering all three licensing organizations, BMI, SESAC and ASCAP. If your funeral home is a member of one of the following organizations, you are eligible for this affordable price that NFDA negotiated on your behalf.
In recent years, music licensing organizations have targeted funeral homes for inspections. Getting caught without a license could result in a copyright infringement lawsuit with penalties up to $30,000. Don't take that risk. When you purchase a music license, you'll have peace of mind through December 31, 2013, knowing that you can meet special musical requests of the families you serve without violating federal copyright laws.
For more information on obtaining a 2013 music license for $235, visit the NFDA website or call NFDA at 800-228-6332.
If you are an NFDA member from a choice state, the 2013 music license fee was included on the membership renewal invoice you received by mail; members from partnership states will receive a music license only invoice.
If you are not a member of NFDA but purchased a music license in 2012, you will be receiving a music license invoice by mail.
