    <title>Forest Lawn Implements Vroozi’s Spend-Management Platform </title>
    <link>https://nfda.org/news/in-the-news/supplier-news/id/10066/forest-lawn-implements-vroozis-spend-management-platform</link>
    <description>Vroozi, a provider of AI-powered procurement and accounts payable automation solutions, recently announced that Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks &amp;amp; Mortuaries has implemented its platform companywide. Vroozi&amp;rsquo;s comprehensive spend-management platform integrates procurement operations with NetSuite and Shopify systems.

Forest Lawn, which began using Vroozi procurement software in 2018, is now using the platform to manage all organizational spending across more than 1,000 suppliers. The implementation coincides with Forest Lawn&amp;rsquo;s recent transition to NetSuite ERP. Vroozi supported multiple phases of this migration, including temporary integrations with transitional systems, such as Bill.com.

The expanded implementation includes several key integrations:

&amp;bull; Inventory Management via NetSuite. Forest Lawn uses Vroozi to replenish stock automatically. When inventory reaches reorder points in NetSuite, the system triggers purchase orders in Vroozi, which creates and sends orders to suppliers. Vroozi updates the inventory system when items are ordered and increases quantity on hand once goods are received.

&amp;bull; Order Fulfillment Through Shopify. Forest Lawn has connected Shopify to its procurement workflow. For example, when flower orders are submitted via Shopify, the application integration fulfills the orders through Vroozi.

&amp;bull; Service Procurement. Forest Lawn uses Vroozi to manage its services, including dove releases, musicians, ministers and interpreters for ceremonies.

&amp;ldquo;Forest Lawn really shows what&amp;rsquo;s possible when procurement platforms serve as the backbone for entire operational workflows,&amp;rdquo; said Shaz Khan, Vroozi co-founder and chief strategy officer. &amp;ldquo;Since partnering with Forest Lawn in 2018, we&amp;rsquo;ve watched them continuously expand their use of the platform, from replacing manual-intensive processes to now connecting procurement with inventory management, sales operations and fulfillment systems. When a sale triggers an inventory need that creates a purchase order that updates multiple systems in real time, that&amp;rsquo;s when procurement becomes genuinely strategic to the business.&amp;rdquo; Vroozi.com

Manifest Launches Deathcare Training, Coaching and Guidance Platform

Manifest, a tech platform for small-business entrepreneurs, recently launched Impart, which provides role-based training, expert coaching and AI-supported guidance for deathcare business owners and staff. Created in collaboration with Melissa Jo Schmidt, a New York-based funeral director with more than 1 million TikTok followers, Impart supports the growing number of women and Gen Zers in the funeral service profession.

Impart helps teams strengthen day-to-day operations while building confidence and consistency across roles. The platform offers:

&amp;bull; Role-based learning that provides practical, adaptive training for directors, arrangers, apprentices and care staff

&amp;bull; AI-supported business tools that review operational data and offer recommendations on staffing, compliance, logistics and day-to-day decision-making

&amp;bull; Access to experienced funeral service professionals and a supportive network of owners and managers who share insights and practical advice

&amp;bull; Operational dashboards and playbooks that deliver clear frameworks and metrics to help funeral homes track performance, identify gaps, strengthen processes and plan for growth

&amp;ldquo;The industry is changing fast, and the skills it takes to succeed are changing right along with it,&amp;rdquo; said Schmidt. &amp;ldquo;Accessible real-world training is essential. With the right tools, funeral directors spend less time buried in logistics and more time doing what matters most: caring for families with clarity and compassion.&amp;rdquo; JoinImpart.com

    <title>Mortuary Lift Launches Next-Gen Stretcher-Stepper</title>
    <link>https://nfda.org/news/in-the-news/supplier-news/id/10064/mortuary-lift-launches-next-gen-stretcher-stepper</link>
    <description>Mortuary Lift Company has released the next generation of its Stretcher-Stepper, an all-electric removal system developed in direct response to years of feedback from funeral service professionals navigating real-world removal challenges.

The next-generation Stretcher-Stepper electrically raises and lowers from horizontal to vertical with the push of a button. It climbs and descends stairs using powered secondary wheels. It loads like a traditional stretcher into a vehicle. And it eliminates the need for manual lifting entirely.

&amp;ldquo;The biggest complaint we heard was the strain of lifting from ground level to bed height, so we electrified that movement,&amp;rdquo; said Katie Hill, president and CEO of Mortuary Lift Company. &amp;ldquo;The second issue was transfers. People didn&amp;rsquo;t want to move from a stepper to a separate stretcher. So, we eliminated that step entirely.&amp;rdquo;

Industry-standard features, such as a quick-release hinge system, allow for smooth transitions between vertical and horizontal positions. When collapsed, the unit aligns with a standard removal cot for controlled transfers. For bed removals, the stand lowers to raise the Stepper to bed height, allowing for straight lateral transfers with the BodyGlide board.

With a 375-pound capacity and lightweight 65-pound frame, the unit is transportable, yet it delivers controlled, powered movement, even in environments that would challenge traditional equipment. In vehicles, the Stretcher-Stepper can slide beside a cot or lock securely into place.

Functioning as three tools in one &amp;ndash; electric stair climber, stretcher and dolly &amp;ndash; the Stretcher-Stepper is designed for real removals, not idealized rooms. &amp;ldquo;Houses are cluttered. Hallways are narrow. Stairs curve,&amp;rdquo; Hill said. &amp;ldquo;This had to work everywhere.&amp;rdquo; MortuaryLift.com

    <title>EWA ADDS ECCLESTON AND VETTER TO ENHANCE CLIENT RELATIONS</title>
    <link>https://nfda.org/news/in-the-news/supplier-news/id/10061/ewa-adds-eccleston-and-vetter-to-enhance-client-relations</link>
    <description>Eagle&amp;rsquo;s Wings Air (EWA) recently made two appointments to enhance customer experience and expand its business-development capabilities. Trevor Eccleston is the company&amp;rsquo;s new director of business development, and Anne Vetter is the new brand ambassador.

Eccleston brings more than 25 years of experience in marketing and business development. Most recently, he served as national account manager at Kates-Boylston Publications, where he developed extensive relationships within the deathcare community. At EWA, he will oversee all marketing strategy and business-development initiatives, including trade-show presence and industry partnerships. Eccleston also will lead the development and expansion of EWA&amp;rsquo;s client relations team.

Vetter rejoins EWA after previously serving as its national account manager. She recently retired from Foundation Partners Group, where she worked in business development for mergers and acquisitions. She has significant experience in funeral service operations, and she possesses deep expertise in international transportation services. Vetter will facilitate strategic relationships with national accounts and key clients, and support the development of expanded service offerings.

These new roles are designed to strengthen EWA&amp;rsquo;s ability to serve the deathcare community across the United States. The company has successfully managed more than 325,000 air transfers since its founding in 2007, and Eccleston&amp;rsquo;s and Vetter&amp;rsquo;s appointments position EWA to scale its personalized service approach while maintaining reliability and responsiveness. <title>NGL Appoints Black as Chief Preneed Distribution Officer, Policyholders Approve Mutual Holding Conversion</title>

    <description>NGL Insurance Company recently appointed Cameron Black as its chief preneed distribution officer, reporting directly to Joe Celentano, president and CEO.

Since joining NGL in January 2019, Black has played a key role in strengthening partner relationships and advancing the company&amp;rsquo;s position in the preneed market. With more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, he brings a partner-centric approach to expanding market presence and to delivering the insight, leadership and resources that drive sustainable growth and long-term success for funeral professionals and the families they serve.

Said Black about his new opportunity: &amp;ldquo;I am honored to step into this role at a time when the preneed profession continues to evolve and expand its impact. Supporting our partners through strong relationships, thoughtful strategies and dependable solutions is central to our mission.&amp;rdquo;

In other news, with the approval of the NGL Board of Directors, policyholders and the Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance, NGL has converted to a mutual holding company. The regulatory and policyholder approval converts the organization to a stock insurer and subsidiary of the mutual holding company.

This restructuring enhances the company&amp;rsquo;s ability to grow, innovate and serve customers while preserving the core values that come with being a mutual insurance company. Policyholders will maintain ownership and control of the insurance holding company while providing NGL greater financial flexibility.

Along with the conversion, the Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance also approved the organization&amp;rsquo;s name change to NGL Insurance Company. Although this took effect January 1, 2026, additional filings are being made with each state as the company completes the name-change process. NGLIC.com

    <link>https://nfda.org/news/in-the-news/supplier-news/id/10012/eztransfer-partners-with-flexmort-to-distribute-new-products</link>
    <description>EZtransfer announced a strategic distribution partnership with U.K.-based Flexmort that brings two innovative products to funeral service professionals across North America and beyond. Those are the AirCool System and CadSeal containment technology.

The AirCool System enhances cooling flexibility for funeral homes of all sizes. Operating at 34 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit and fully operational within 30 minutes, AirCool eliminates the traditional barriers to professional-grade refrigeration because it requires no permits, contractors nor permanent construction costs. Whether you are dealing with space constraints in a smaller facility, need surge capacity during peak seasons or run multilocation operations, AirCool adapts to your needs. Durable enough for permanent installation yet portable for relocation as needed, it gives you complete control over your cooling strategy without sunk costs or operational compromises.

Proven globally across military operations, government agencies and funeral service organizations, CadSeal provides 100% hermetic sealing for advanced-decomposition, infectious-disease and edematous cases. Serving as both an everyday facility essential and a premium replacement for Ziegler cases in international shipping, CadSeal delivers durability, reliability and professional presentation that conventional products fail to match. <title>Batesville Unveils 2026 Products</title>
    <link>https://nfda.org/news/in-the-news/supplier-news/id/10007/batesville-unveils-2026-products</link>
    <description>In January, Batesville unveiled the first wave of its 2026 product portfolio. Anchoring these offerings is LifeStories, a suite of personalization solutions designed to help families share memories and celebrate what matters most through coordinated details. The lineup includes:

&amp;bull; LifeStories MemoryFrames: These physical photo frames can be displayed during services and kept afterward.

&amp;bull; LifeStories Interiors: New customizable casket interiors &amp;ndash; including the overthrow, pillow sham and cap-panel frame &amp;ndash; feature themed designs, colors and elements, and can be easily installed on-site by the funeral home. The interior components arrive with the casket on the next scheduled delivery date to reduce personalization time.

&amp;bull; Licensed Military Medallions: Offered in partnership with the U.S. military, these officially licensed emblems represent each branch of service and can be added to both standard and rental caskets.

&amp;bull; LifeStories Rental Casket Personalization: Five new rental casket models offer full personalization, including the above features and medallions. The keepsake elements then can be transferred to an urn.

Batesville also introduced four new casket designs that integrate seamlessly with the LifeStories features. The T60 20-Gauge Steel Casket is available in platinum pearl, midnight pearl and ivory pearl. This model features the Charpente Interior System, the MemorySafe drawer, rust- and corrosion-resistant interior and exterior construction, and a secure locking mechanism. The second model is the Classic Pecan Wood Casket, crafted with pecan veneers and solids. A crystal stain and satin finish enhance the natural wood appearance.

Other family-forward solutions, such as Batesville&amp;rsquo;s Family Choices Digital Showroom, bring clarity to the arrangement experience with real-time 3D visualization and rendering. The newly introduced Remembrance Store &amp;ndash; a co-branded, ready-to-use online storefront &amp;ndash; offers an easy, on-demand way for families to explore and purchase urns, keepsakes and other memorial items. <title>Jefferson and Creedy Launch New Advisory Platform</title>
    <link>https://nfda.org/news/in-the-news/supplier-news/id/9974/jefferson-and-creedy-launch-new-advisory-platform</link>
    <description>Alan Creedy and Danny Jefferson have formally launched J&amp;amp;C Advisors, a newly organized advisory platform created to support independent funeral home owners and successors as they navigate a period of profound change within the profession.

The launch coincides with a new website and the consolidation of prior initiatives, including the integration of Two Guys and a Question into the J&amp;amp;C Advisors platform. According to Creedy and Jefferson, the reorganization reflects a natural evolution &amp;ndash; one shaped by several years of close work with funeral professionals confronting shifting consumer expectations, leadership transitions and the growing complexity of operating a sustainable business.

Rather than offering standalone programs or generalized consulting, J&amp;amp;C Advisors reorganized its work into clearly defined venues of service that focus on specific dimensions of leadership development, including financial stewardship, peer collaboration, skills development and successor readiness.

The firm&amp;rsquo;s philosophy is rooted in the belief that the next decade will challenge many long-standing assumptions in funeral service and reward those who lead with clarity, curiosity and intention. Participation is selective by design.

Consistent with that philosophy, J&amp;amp;C Advisors works primarily through invitation-based peer groups and advisory relationships. The structure is designed to foster trust, candor and shared learning among participants, whose experiences and opinions add value to the conversation.

Many long-standing participants recently completed an initial three-year engagement and now are being invited into the next phase of the platform under updated terms. The firm views this transition not as an expansion but as a refinement &amp;ndash; building a more clearly defined community that&amp;rsquo;s aligned around preparation rather than prescriptions.

Although participation is by invitation, J&amp;amp;C Advisors welcomes thoughtful inquiry from owners and successors who believe this approach aligns with their vision for the future of their firm. &amp;nbsp;JandCAdvisors.com

    <title>TDAW Makes Writing Obituaries Easy, Preserves Human Element</title>
    <link>https://nfda.org/news/in-the-news/supplier-news/id/9972/tdaw-makes-writing-obituaries-easy-preserves-human-element</link>
    <description>Artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots are an increasingly popular tool to automate the obituary-writing process. They&amp;rsquo;re used by family members themselves, as well as funeral directors contracted to write obituaries. Although this technology can be useful and time-saving, it, like any tool, should be used with care.

&amp;ldquo;The risk with using a standalone generative AI tool to write an obituary is that, very likely, some of the details included will turn out to be made up,&amp;rdquo; said Wes Johnson, president and CEO of Continental Computers. &amp;ldquo;AI can be a useful tool for writing obituaries, but it works best if it&amp;rsquo;s incorporated natively into your funeral home software and fits seamlessly into your existing process.&amp;rdquo;

The Director&amp;rsquo;s Assistant Web (TDAW) has built-in obituary-writing features that bridge the gap between automation and personalization. Here are the steps when crafting an obituary:

1. Create a funeral case with all relevant details about the deceased and their family.

2. Build an obituary using a native template and data from the funeral case.

3. Edit the generated obituary. Add other text and links, and adjust the formatting.

4. Invite the family to preview the obituary via the Family Link portal.

5. Email the obituary to anyone involved with the case, such as the funeral officiator.

6. Add the obituary to Memorial Designer Library products, such as memorial folders, prayer cards and funeral records.

7. Use the obituary in a Fund-a-Family campaign.

8. Export the obituary for publishing online, in print and on memorial items.

&amp;ldquo;An obituary is meant for human consumption,&amp;rdquo; stated Johnson. &amp;ldquo;The tools built into TDAW make it fast and easy to write an accurate obituary that serves as a meaningful, lasting memorial to the deceased.&amp;rdquo; ContinentalComputers.com

    <description>Batesville recently appointed Jenn Parvin as its first senior vice president and chief customer officer, and Ajay Kapoor as its new senior vice president and chief marketing and digital officer.

In her new role, Parvin will champion the needs of families and funeral professionals by ensuring their voices shape the company&amp;rsquo;s strategy, priorities and decisions. She also will lead the sales, customer-experience and customer-service teams, and work closely with Batesville&amp;rsquo;s logistics team to create a more connected end-to-end customer journey.

With nearly two decades of leadership experience at Batesville, Parvin has a comprehensive understanding of the company&amp;rsquo;s customers, field teams, products and operations that uniquely equips her to deliver clarity, consistency and confidence at every stage.

Also focusing on the customer experience, Kapoor will lead the company&amp;rsquo;s digital strategy and drive innovation across marketing, products and customer touchpoints. Combining data, creativity and brand purpose, he will help develop next-generation offerings that meet the evolving needs of families.

Kapoor brings extensive leadership experience from prominent consumer companies, including Helen of Troy, SharkNinja and Procter &amp;amp; Gamble. Most recently, he served as global executive director of performance-driven marketing at General Motors, where he oversaw large-scale brand and digital transformations.

Kapoor&amp;rsquo;s leadership and impact have been widely recognized with honors such as Ad Age&amp;rsquo;s &amp;ldquo;40 Under 40&amp;rdquo; designation and Adobe Executive of the Year. He also was selected as a &amp;ldquo;Global Shaper&amp;rdquo; by the World Economic Forum.

John Parliapiano will continue to serve as senior vice president of sales, leading engagement with Batesville&amp;rsquo;s largest national accounts and region consolidators to deepen customer partnerships and expand impact across burial, cremation and technology.

In other news, since January 2026, Batesville has been offering a monthly webinar series designed to help funeral professionals adapt to changing consumer expectations, enhance the in-person experience, and expand family choices through personalization and merchandising solutions.

The third and final installment, &amp;ldquo;Maximizing Cremation Options: Tools and Solutions to Elevate Your Offerings,&amp;rdquo; will be held on March 24. Presented by the Batesville cremation team, this session will focus on the growing demand for cremation and examine how modern merchandising tools and solutions can help funeral homes better serve families that choose cremation.

In January, Batesville offered &amp;ldquo;Meeting Modern Expectations: Redefining the Consumer Experience.&amp;rdquo; This session explored how funeral homes can apply retail-science principles to improve the consumer experience. February&amp;rsquo;s episode, &amp;ldquo;What&amp;rsquo;s Next in Family Choices: Personalization That Tells Every Story,&amp;rdquo; covered the ways in which personalization is shaping the future of funeral service. <title>Program Offers New Life for Used Pacemakers</title>
    <link>https://nfda.org/news/in-the-news/supplier-news/id/9940/program-offers-new-life-for-used-pacemakers</link>
    <description>&amp;ldquo;My Heart Your Heart&amp;rdquo; is an innovative project established by Kim A. Eagle, an Albion Walter Hewlett professor of internal medicine and the director of the Samuel and Jean Frankel Cardiovascular Center at the University of Michigan. The program enables funeral homes and crematories to make a meaningful difference by donating explanted pacemakers. These devices, which otherwise would be discarded prior to cremation, can be safely tested, sterilized and given a second life for patients in need.

Funeral homes interested in participating complete a simple online form to receive complimentary fulfillment kits with prepaid shipping labels. Each donated device undergoes rigorous testing and sterilization in accordance with the strictest medical standards. Then, it is shipped abroad for reimplantation in patients in countries participating in &amp;ldquo;My Heart Your Heart.&amp;rdquo;

&amp;ldquo;This initiative truly embodies what your profession stands for &amp;ndash; compassion and community,&amp;rdquo; says Eagle. &amp;ldquo;Funeral directors have become vital partners in saving lives around the world. Their support ensures that no pacemaker capable of giving someone another heartbeat goes to waste.&amp;rdquo;

The &amp;ldquo;My Heart Your Heart&amp;rdquo; program not only saves lives but also prevents potentially hazardous materials from entering the waste stream. The program supports environmental sustainability by reducing waste, conserving metals such as titanium, and preventing hazardous materials from entering the environment.
