Is your funeral home or crematory one cremation away from becoming uninsured?

The cremation rate has just about doubled in the past 25 years – and according to the FTC, cremation procedures “are the largest sources of risk exposure and liability in the funeral industry” – whether you own a crematory or not. It’s critical that you know how to manage cremation risk, operate correctly and safely, and prevent costly fires.

• Ensure that your insurance protects your firm against negligent acts, errors, and omissions
• Eliminate uncontrolled cremator fires through proper inspections, maintenance, and training
• Understand how to correctly cremate bodies of size
• Use a checklist to identify and remedy potentially hazardous situations

Presenter: Jack West, , National Account Executive, Federated Insurance, NFDA endorsed provider, and

Mike Nicodemus, NFDA vice president, cremation services.
