More Than $50,000 Raised at 2013 Convention to Support Comfort Zone Camp

Generous Gifts From NGL and Funeral Service Foundation More Than Double Donation

On behalf of Comfort Zone Camp and the thousands of children who have benefited from the grief support camps they offer throughout the country, thank you for reaching deep in your pockets to support this amazing organization during the 2013 NFDA convention.

More than $20,000 was raised, all of which will benefit children who are grieving the loss of a parent, sibling or primary caregiver. In addition, a generous lead gift of $20,000 from NGL and a matching gift of $10,000 from the Funeral Service Foundation will more than double the amount raised. Gail Bower, national development director for Comfort Zone Camp, couldn’t say enough good things about her experience at this year’s NFDA Convention.

“I was overwhelmed by the generosity of individuals and businesses who donated to serve children in grief,” said Bower. “Your donations will provide many children from across the United States with their very first opportunity to share their story, receive validation, and feel truly understood after the death of a parent, sibling or guardian. Your support will also provide many other children with the opportunity to remain connected to the community that helped transform their grief journeys from lonely, isolated ones into healthy, manageable ones. On behalf of Comfort Zone and of all the children and families who will receive support because of your donations, thank you for helping us turn grief into growth.”
