former owner of Benjamin & Whipple Funeral Home, Clio, Michigan, died September 29, 2012, at age 87. Whipple served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was a licensed funeral director for more than 40 years, retiring in 1980 and turning the business over to son Tom. Whipple served on the Board of Elders and Board of Directors of Messiah Lutheran Church and was a life member of Gordon R. Bennett VFW Post #1452. He is survived by wife Peggy; son Thomas; stepsons Michael, Paul and Scott; and one grandson.
