David E. Sucharski

funeral director, division manager, mentor and former vice president of Givnish Family Funeral Homes, serving the Philadelphia and New Jersey region, died March 21, 2012. Sucharski received his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from LaSalle College and attended American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service. With his brothers, he began a long and successful career in music as Frank Sucharski and His Polka Ambassadors, entertaining up and down the East Coast for 40 years as concert, TV, radio and recording artists. He was a founding member of the American Legion Post #821 marching band, which had a prize-winning and successful run performing in parades and concerts throughout the area, becoming a staple in the annual Bridesburg Community Memorial Day parade. For the past 35 years, he was a member of the Associated Polish Home, Polish American Congress and former president of the Haverford Township Rotary Club. For 20 years, he chaired the local Adopt-A-Highway program. As a funeral director, he served with many local funeral homes in the Philadelphia area and worked next to his uncle and father at Walter E. Sucharski Funeral Home. He served families in Philadelphia and New Jersey with Givnish Family Funeral Homes for 35 years. He is survived by wife Caryn Lee; mother Roselle; and children Natalie, David, Caroline and Lisa.
