funeral director and owner of Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton, Indiana, died April 5, 2012, at age 77. Nichols received his bachelor’s of science degree in business from Indiana University in 1956 and was a graduate of Indiana College of Mortuary Science. He was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Nichols was on the finance committees at the Tipton County Foundation and the Sisters of St. Joseph, the board of directors of the former Tipton Building & Loan Association, director of the Elks National Bowling Association, member of the Tipton County Historical Society and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He was also one of the first EMTs in Tipton County. Nichols was serving his sixth term as Tipton County coroner and was a former president of the Indiana Coroner’s Association. He is survived by daughter Lynn; sons Bob, Brad and Mike; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
