Ralph “Butch” Koonce

owner and operator of Central Illinois Mortuary Services (CIMS), Peoria, Illinois, died September 25, 2012, at age 65. Koonce was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Navy, and also served on the USS Bradley reunion committee. He graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in 1988 and was owner/operator of CIMS for 23 years, retiring in 2011. Koonce was a member of the Illinois Funeral Directors Association and NFDA, was on the Disaster Mortuary Response Team for the Oklahoma City bombing and served on the American Red Cross advisory board. He was also a retired volunteer for the Northern Tazewell Rescue and Fire Department. He is survived by wife Sharon; father Ralph; children William, Chris, Jennifer and Susan; and 10 grandchildren.
