founder of Armour’s Memorial Funeral Home, Alexander City, Alabama, died July 28, 2012. Armour established funeral homes in Goodwater and Tallassee, Alabama, in 1957. In 1963, he established Armour’s and expanded the chain to Sylacauga, Alabama, in 1974 by purchasing the former Madden Funeral Home. He built and opened a new facility in 1975, and in 1976 established a funeral home in Lineville, Alabama, which operated well into the 1990s.
