Ewen graduated from Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing and Post College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in business management. As a registered nurse, she worked in the ICU and emergency room at Griffin Hospital, Mariner Health Care Center and Medi-Bar Cardiac Monitoring Services. The funeral home she managed belonged to her family. She is survived by husband Walter, sister Anne, stepsons Scott and Mark, and four step-granddaughters.
