This business later became Evanson and Son and then Evanson Jensen Funeral Home. He retired in 1986. Evanson was an organizing member and served on the board of directors of KBJM Radio, Lemmon Livestock Market and Gregorian Manufacturing. He also served on Lemmon’s school board and city council, the Lemmon Volunteer Fire Department and Lions Club, serving as president for the latter at various times. Evanson was chosen as Centennial Grand Marshal of Lemmon because of his extraordinary commitment. He was also a member of the South Dakota Funeral Directors Association. He is survived by wife Ollie, daughter Darlene, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
