Ede Warner

former owner of several Indiana funeral homes, died April 28, 2012, at age 88. Warner graduated from Worsham Mortuary College in 1947 and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He owned Smith, Bizzell, Warner and Son Funeral Home (Gary); Warner Mortuary (Kokomo); Warner Funeral Service (Hamond); and Lil’s Package Liquors. Warner was a member of the Indiana Funeral Directors Association, Northwest Indiana Funeral Association, NFDA and the International Order of the Golden Rule, where he served as president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. He was also a member of the Airplane Owners and Pilots Association, Flying Funeral Directors of America and the Experimental Aircraft Association. He is survived by sons Ede Jr. and Paul; daughters Lynna, Paula and Edegene; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
