Willis Eugene “Gene” Noller

retired president of Foster Funeral Home Inc., Webster City, Iowa, died April 14, 2012, at age 87. Noller attended the University of Iowa before enlisting in the U.S. Army and serving with the military police in the American Theater. He enrolled in the Hohenschuh-Carpenter School of Mortuary Science in 1947 and served his apprenticeships at Patterson-James Funeral Home (Mason City) and Nimmer Funeral Chapel (Sigourney). In 1952, Noller moved to Webster City with his wife and joined Foster Funeral Home, serving as vice president and later as president. He retired in 1990. Noller served as past president and first Lion of the Year honoree of the Webster City Lions, was a board member of the Airport Commission, member of the Webster City Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Hamilton County Red Cross, past president of American Field Service and former member of the Iowa Funeral Directors Association and NFDA. He is survived by wife Pat; daughters Cheryl, Lynne, Kathy and Mary; and six grandchildren.
