owner of Thomas Funeral Home P.A., Cambridge, Maryland, died August 11, 2011, at age 61. Thomas attended the University of Baltimore, served his apprenticeship under his father and in 1971 graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He earned his license in 1972 and worked for the family business. Following the death of his father in 1986, he and brother Kenny became equal partners in the funeral home, and in 2003, he became sole owner.

Thomas served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1971-77 and was a longtime supporter of American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. He belonged to the Delmarva Funeral Service Association, the International Order of the Golden Rule and NFDA.

He is survived by wife Janet and daughters Caitlyn and Emily.
