A bill to repeal the onerous health insurance tax created by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act has been introduced in the House of Representatives. NFDA needs you to take action by urging your representatives in Congress to support H.R. 763, the bill that would repeal this tax.
As you learned in the February 25 issue of the NFDA Bulletin, beginning in 2014, a tax will be imposed on insurance companies that offer fully-insured coverage. The tax will be assessed on the net earned health insurance premiums as a percentage of their total premiums. A study found that on average, across all states from 2014 to 2023, premiums will increase $2,794 for small businesses employees with an individual plan and $6,883 for those with a family plan.
Taking action is easy using NFDA's Congress-at-a-Click. There you will find a prepared email that you can customize if you wish and send out today. It only takes a few moments of your time. Click here and support NFDA's efforts to repeal H.R. 763!
