NFDA Cremation Certification Program Coming to Texas and South Carolina

With the increasing rate of cremation, it's more important than ever for you to be fully prepared to serve families that choose cremation. That includes having a firm grasp on your professional and ethical responsibilities to the families you serve. NFDA's Certified Crematory Operator (CCO) Program was developed for all funeral professionals, whether they use a third-party crematory, own or operate their own crematory, or are thinking of owning a crematory. After completing the program, you will have a thorough understanding of your legal and ethical obligations during the entire cremation process, from the moment you take a decedent into your care, until you return the cremated remains to the family. Register now for the CCO Seminar in San Antonio, Texas, on January 31 or the seminar in Columbia, S.C., on February 2.

The NFDA CCO program is for any funeral professional who offers cremation services to families – and that's almost everyone – whether your firm owns a crematory or uses a third-party. The program, which is even taught by two licensed funeral directors, covers everything you need to know in order to knowledgably and ethically provide cremation services to families. Topics that are covered include:

  • Cremation ethics
  • Serving cremation families
  • Principles of combustion
  • Crematory equipment operations
  • Written authorizations
  • Cremation process and procedures
  • Shipping cremated remains
  • Cremation safety and compliance
  • Liability and risk avoidance
  • Public and community relations

As the trusted leader in funeral service, NFDA set the bar higher with a cremation certification program that not only emphasizes professional excellence and customer service, but reinforces the important role that ethics plays in serving families that choose cremation.

Learn how you can serve families at the highest level of professional excellence and integrity. For more information or to register, call your personal member services representative at 800-228-6332 or click the link for the seminar you wish to attend:
