NFDA learned today that due to a contracted service going out of business, human remains temporarily cannot be shipped to or from Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee, WI. Currently, O'Hare International Airport in Chicago, IL, is the next closest airport that will accept outbound and inbound shipments of human remains.
NFDA has received word from Southwest Airlines that a new service will be in place at Mitchell International Airport beginning Wednesday, January 22; Delta Airlines expects to have service restored by Saturday, February 1.
If you have questions, please Corey Eggers, NFDA international project manager, 800-228-6332.
NFDA will keep you apprised of any updates it receives.
