Get to Know New Orleans: Local Lingo

New Orleans – host to the 2010 NFDA International Convention & Expo, October 10-13 – is a little corner of the American South where European traditions blend with Caribbean influences, the history is as colorful as the architecture and the food is the stuff of legend.

New Orleans has a local lingo all its own. From enjoying a beignet and a cup of chicory, to passing a good time because of the lagniappe you experienced in the Vieux Carré... the unique language of the locals is part of what makes New Orleans' culture so special. Click here to brush up on some of the local lingo you might encounter when you're out and about exploring the city!
