Ways and Means Committee Chairman Rep. Dave Camp (R-MI) and Finance Committee Chairman Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT) are moving forward with an effort to reform the tax code and have launched a website and social media presence to enable every American to share feedback, ideas and opinions.
Developed in partnership with the Joint Committee on Taxation, www.taxreform.gov and the Twitter account @simplertaxes will serve as a platform for the American public to weigh in on tax reform. Input from visitors to the web site and Twitter followers will be valuable to Camp and Baucus as they craft legislation.
These tools provide a unique opportunity for every American to join the conversation, right from their own home or business. Visitors to the website can learn about tax reform and submit ideas on how to improve the tax code. The site has been built around three sections:
The site also provides a library of material detailing the efforts by Camp and Baucus over the past two years as each has worked to develop comprehensive tax reform proposals.
You can learn more about the website in an article that recently appeared in USA Today.
