Robert T. Rosson Jr., CFSP, CPC, co-manager of Waller Funeral Home in Oxford, Miss., is the 2012-13 president of the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA).
As president, Rosson will serve as the Association's chief elected officer and will preside over the NFDA Executive Board, Policy Board, House of Delegates, International Convention & Expo, Leadership Conference and Advocacy Summit. Rosson will represent the Association to affiliated professional groups, external organizations, state convention attendees and the public. He will also communicate monthly with NFDA members through an editorial column in The Director magazine, the world's most widely read funeral trade publication.
Rosson has been a licensed funeral director for more than 20 years. He graduated from Northwest Mississippi Junior College in 1985 with a degree in mortuary science.
Rosson is committed to the funeral service profession on both a state and national level. He has held every office on the Mississippi Funeral Directors Association's board of directors, including terms as a district governor and president. He is a past chairman of the Mississippi Funeral Directors Trust and remains on its board of directors.
On a national level, Rosson has served as an at-large representative, secretary, treasurer and president-elect on NFDA's Executive Board. He also served as Mississippi's representative to the NFDA Policy Board. Rosson has taken on many roles within his national association, including serving as a member of several NFDA committees and work groups, such as Audit, Budget, Disaster Preparedness, Spokesperson, Professional Development, Preneed, Public Relations and Pursuit of Excellence. Rosson is a regular participant in the Association's advocacy activities and is a member of The Heritage Club.
