Robert "Bob" T. Rosson Jr., CFSP, CPC, CCO, co-manager of Waller Funeral Home in Oxford, Miss., is the 2013-14 immediate past president of the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA).
In his previous role as NFDA president, Bob worked with the NFDA Executive Board to continue the advancement of the Association's strategic plan, which includes delivering programs and services to help NFDA members improve their service to the dying, the dead and the bereaved.
As immediate past president, Bob will attend all meetings of the Executive Board, Policy Board and House of Delegates, and will serve as a liaison between the Executive Board and NFDA's past presidents. He will also represent the Association at state funeral association conventions, serve as an NFDA spokesperson and encourage other qualified candidates to run for office.
Bob has been a licensed funeral director for more than 20 years. He graduated from Northwest Mississippi Junior College in 1985 with a degree in mortuary science.
Bob is committed to the funeral service profession on both a state and national level. He has held every office on the Mississippi Funeral Directors Association's board of directors, including terms as a district governor and president. He is a past chairman of the Mississippi Funeral Directors Trust and remains on its board of directors.
On a national level, Bob has served as an at-large representative, secretary, treasurer, president-elect and president on NFDA's Executive Board. He also served as Mississippi's representative to the NFDA Policy Board. Bob has taken on many roles within his national association, including serving as a member of several NFDA committees and work groups, such as Audit, Budget, Disaster Preparedness, Spokesperson, Professional Development, Preneed, Public Relations and Pursuit of Excellence.
